Elias Barnabas Inyasi began his music career in 2000 when he started vocal training with his Church Choir. He joined THT when he was 17 years old with the intention to become a hiphop artist. His interest quickly shifted when he was given a guitar and that soon became his most precious instrument.

His first song ‘Baby I love you’ In 2007 was an eye opener for the artist who quickly realised that in order to break into the market you need to be unique. After a couple of months, Barnaba recorded “Njia Panda” that became his first big hit.

Barnaba’s dream is to become an international musician. He enjoys experimenting with different musical instruments, techniques and genres. THT has given Barnaba much assistance in this area, and he is grateful for their guidance and support over the years.

Through the success of his music career, his family life has been transformed, and this he owes to the teaching and support from the THT staff.

Barnaba recently received the most nominations in the Tanzania Music Awards, and has consistently been in the charts, with two of his recent releases reaching number one.

Apart from playing the bass guitar, rhythm guitar and the piano, Barnabas’ strength lies in composition.  Nominated as the best composer in Tanzania, he is currently producing and writing music and lyrics for his fellow THT members and other artists.

In June 2011, out of the top 20 favorite songs on the charts, 6 songs were written by Barnaba.
